Drawing your personality?

Hey Betches!

After a longer break, I'm back with some new posts! I had to study a lot the last few days so I skipped blogging for some sparetime :)

Yesterday after the exam I came home and was quite bored - didn't have to learn for anything - so I decided to do a look I wanted to do for quite a long while.

There exist a few of these looks I guess, but I thought for a while about the fact, that I sometimes look so different without makeup than with it, that I tried to catch it with the camera and painted just one half of my face. Of course the difference would be bigger if I'd have went for some more dramatic look - but this was enough for me.

If it comes to the shape of my face that changes with contouring and highligting or my mood that absolutley changes when I'm done with making myself up - made me think a little bit.

With this pictures I decided to "learn" again to go outside without any makeup - because now I feel quite uncomfortable without and that's not the sense of it. Yes, on the "bare-faced" pic I'm wearing foundation because I wanted to make the difference more obvious - I guess I'd have reached this effect better if I'd have skipped everything.

[Project Brows] End Result

Hey betches!

Maybe some of you remember that I started 3 month ago with the project to redefine my brows *klick*. I thought this would have been finished in about two month - now it took me almost three to let them grow for a long time and redefine them to reach again the shape they had!

First I had the idea to document the "steps", but in the end they just looked messy and overgrown for a while - and there was no huge and seeable progress, so I decided for me just to show you the end results!

I'm really really happy with it - to me they look better than I aimed them to look like - not symmetric, but I guess I have to live with the fact they'll never be ;).

Enough of blabbering - *drumroll* - here they are:

the right brow needs to grow a little pointier - but I it wouldn't make my happiness running away if this will never happen :D

I'm sooooo happy - I can sleep a minute longer in the morn ing because a step of my daily routine is finally gone - no more reshaping with powder and browpencil - no longer the fear I could smear them during a long day - just a little browgel to keep them in shape and they're ready!

[Review] b.pretty GLITTER FIX

Hey betches!

As I lack of glitter stuff and lack of experience working with it - I decided to search for some cheap stuff I can start with.
I found the b.pretty GLITTER FIX - I got golden star and diamond shine.

I think I paid about 1,50 € for one of them, but could have been more or less, not sure anymore.

There is quite few information on it - on one side there is loose glitter on the other side it holds a fixing gel.
Really, I've nothing I could compare it too beside the Essence Crystalliced Glitter Froster - what wouldn't work, because the consistency is absolutely not compareable. You don't need a fxing gel for the Glitter Frosters and they're way,way smoother and finer than the GLITTER FIX.

The loose glitter is quite chunky with some very fine glitter dust around it - so the idea to put everything in together with the lipgloss applicator wasn't the best idea - because when you open it you'll be covered in glitter - anything is flying and flurrying around you.

So I applied first the fixing gel on the back of my hand - than with a Q-tip the glitter - the golden one applied quite well looked not that bad, then I applied the "diamond shine" and it looke like I had wet salt on my hand - there are some really nice pink, blue and turquoise glitterpieces in it, but they don't appear that much, you mainly see the "salt".

The biggest problem I had with it was the fact that nothing on or under or in the packaging said if I could use this in my eye-area. Well as you saw *here*  I did. My eyes didn't react any other than when I've used stuff that had written on it that is was approved for usage at the eye-area.
I guess it is thought for the use in this area, but if you aren't sure - don't do it.

voilá - the salt. although you can see colored glitters - doesn't help that much :D

But I like the golden star - of course on the right pic it seems like golden sand, but with a basecolor it sparkles and looks so beautiful.

without flash and after a while of trying around to catch the nice glitter in "diamond shine" I came up with these pics - you can see the turquoise and blue glitters, but I guess it's not that important if you just can wear it in the dark or you'll look like a drying mermaid.

Over all I think these GLITTER FIXes are great for carnival, if you don't want to use them for eye makeups. This is absolutely nothing special and I wasn't looking for anything special - I just needed some glitter to try working with it ;) - so I'm not an expert you should listen to if it comes to glitter.

[Tag] 5 Q&A

Hey betches!

Another tag for me! Sarah has these 5 questions for me!

Rules:
* Link the person that tagged you.
* Answer the questions.
* Tag 5 other people - I tag anybody that wants to take part!
* Inform the person you tagged

* Create 5 new questions.
Do you take your time for your makeup routine or do you want it quick?
Depends on the time I've left - in the morning I need 20 minutes for my face and couldn't bare one second more - if it comes to make party it will last a few seconds longer ;)

What really annoys you about making you up?
I really really hate it when I've one of these days my foundation doesn't look like the others - I guess ya'll know it - it gets cakey, chalky, spotty - nothing works out until you remove anything - wash your face again and start over.

Smartphone or Oldschool cell phone?

Smartphone - truly in love with my Blackberry.

Movie or the book related to it?

Both, sometimes I read the book first sometimes I watch the movie first - become interested and read the book afterwards.

What do you adore and others might think that it's a bit childish? (like Hello Kitty...)
Ok, besides Hello Kitty I don't think there is something, I adore anything childish :D I can't walk through a toy store without wanting half of the stuff standing in the shelves.

Sooo here are my 5 Questions:

1. When did you start getting interested in make-up?
2. Would you rather live without lipstick or eyeliner?
3. What are you going to do in december 2012?
4. The moment when you thought you were a bit of a freak about cosmetics?
5. Ever had a product you absolutely loved discontinued? What did you do?

Flormar U16

Hey Betches!

Last week I first bought some polishes at the Flormar counter at the DZ.
I want to show you each of the four in a single post, because all of them are real beauties and have the right to shine alone :).

The first one is one of the Supershine Miracle Colors - a gorgeous duochrome fleck polish - it changes from a very strong fuchsia to a very strong blue. I used for the manicure a black polish as a base - because the only contra point to ME is that it's quite sheer without a darker base color.

With the black polish underneath I needed one coat to reach the heavy duochrome effect perfectly!

As I got no sun atm, the pictures are sometimes a bit flurry because I had to take them under artificial light - just imagine the colors more "true" and not with this orangy touch!

the fuchsia is comes out quite realistic, but imagine the blue way stronger and deeper!

Playing with colors #4

Hello Betches!

Here comes the Ice Queen!
I'm so into playing with the stuff on my vanity - and I got enough time the last weeks.

I told you before that I'm in love with the waterproof kajal in "petrol glam" by Look, so I decided to try it over the whole lid - and it worked awesome - it has kind of a duochrome effect if you apply it generously and not just on your waterline - big love!

After I started to apply it I thought I could try myself as the Ice Queen - here is the result!

Here the close ups of the eye make up and the brows:

for the eyebrows I covered them with the silver mascara - brushed them up and backwards and dabbed a shimmery white e/s with my finger on top

for the eye make up I just drew the shape I wanted filled it in with the same kajal - applied the silvery blue eyeliner and with a small angled brush I topped it with a silver glitter powder/pigment

 Face:

mixture of Catrice Infinite Matt and Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix
Essence - Fix&Matte Loose Powder
Alverde - Rosé

Highlights:

IQ Eyeshadow Quartet 1 - black nuanace - shimmery white e/s
Essence - It's Magic

Brows:

P2 - Into Lace Mascara (also used it for the bottom lashes)
same white e/s from the IQ Quartet

Eyes:

Look waterproof kajal - Petrol Glam
Essence Metalglam eyeliner - Breezy beach
Essence - Dusty Diamond on top of Breezy Beach

Hope you like it!

My Nailpolish Stash

Hey betches!

I was tagged by lovely Caro - to show my nailpolish stash.
This has nothing to do with bragging about anything - this is my hobby and pleasure :).

A few weeks ago I reorganized my polishes from two drawers into one three-drawer plastic commode (no idea where this one is from - I kind of stole it from our bathroom).
I put in an antislide mat that I cut in fitting pieces, that the polishes don't slip around.

On my vanity I got a little wooden box where I keep my unused polishes and polishes from OPI, China Glaze, Essie, Chanel,... because I don't own enough of them to fill a whole drawer - I'm collecting.

Each drawer holds about 80-100 polishes - haven't counted them since reorganizing.

There is one more box with backups - yes the freak I am buys nailpolish backups and a drawer in my vanity with polishes that weren't used for a longer time than a year, and now are waiting  for the second plastic-whatever-commode. And I don't show this one because everything's just thrown in and absolutely chaos :D

First one holds Essence, Look, b.pretty, Basic and Manhattan polishes:

Second one holds Catrice, MNY, other Look and some more Essence polishes:

Last one is filled with nameless ebay - nailartpolishes, an everything else nailartpolish related you can buy in austria:

Dustbin and nail supplies, base/top coats, files,... on top:

Box on my vanity holds OPI, NOPI, Chanel, Orly, Illamasqua and various brands I got just one bottle of + unused polishes:

This is what I got/love/use/enjoy almost everyday!

Hey betches!

Since years I wanted to try to do a cut crease, but I never succeeded and always let it behind for the next time - until I saw a few days ago Josi's Look and was so freakin' stunned that I HAD to try it again and again and again until it looks that awesome!

As it's freazing cold outside, wet and windy - I decided to do something meaningful with my time and cut the crease.

Be kind - this is my first attempt - and the first time I used loose glitter.

Playing with colors #2

Hey Betches!

I was sick a few weeks ago, and had nothing better to do (beside suffering) than fooling around with colors.

Inspired by Lisa Eldridge and her video about red eye make-up, I used the 98 palette from zoeva and mixed some colors, foundation is #51 of Bourjois Paris' Healthy Mix (I know that it's to light for me, but it makes everything a little bit more geisha-like), Catrice Liquid Liner, on the lips I was wearing Clarins #38 (I don't think this is in stock anymore, as I didn't find it anywhere again), on the cheeks I've used Alverde's Berry.

I tried a cooler more blue toned red on my eyes and a warmer red tone on my lips and cheeks - and I I really like the contrast - of course it's no everday but a walk-out-on-the-street-and-scare-kids-look, but a little bit toned down, it could come out as a wearable look.

The most Used in 2011

Hey Betches!

I needed a little bit more time to find the products I definitely used the most in 2011. It took me two days of intense thinking back - and here they are:

Favourite Lip Products:

Coralize Me (Essence) - my everyday lipstick when I need a bit of color on my lips
Impassioned (MAC) - THE most worn lipstick in 2011 - more than the half is gone - I adore this shocking pink!
Cherish (MAC) - my newest everyday l/s, since I got it I wore nothing else
Trendsetter (Essence) - I'm so into this cold pink, lovely scented lipgloss
Purple Reign (Catrice) - the only gloss in a darker color I was wearing more often the last year

Nude (Alverde) is missing, I can't find it :(

left row from bottom to top - Coralize Me, Impassioned, Cherish
right row from bottom to top - Trendsetter, Purple Reign

Favourite Face Products:

Healthy Mix Foundation (Bourjois Paris) - MY perfect foundation - I pronounce happy as peaches in pie that I found my second holy grail in face products!
Pro Longwear Concealer NC20 (MAC) - the first holy grail ;)
transparent powder 010 Porcelaine (P2 ) - Yvonne gave it to me, and I hardly used anything else since then
Zoeva Kabuki Brush out of the small Bamboo Set - love, love, love this awesome Kabuki!!!

103 (KIKO) - if I need some glow - I wear almost this blush
Coral Sand (Catrice) - everyday blush - one of the most used in 2011
Peche (Alverde) - THE most used blush ever - I'm so glad that I still didn't hit the pan

Favourite Eye Products:

Multi Action Mascara (Essence) - it's true that I'm using atm Ultra Black more often, but all together this mascara is still my #1
Petrol Glam waterproof eyeliner (Look) - aaaaaaah - I just can say one word, no two words - TRUE LOVE!!!
Blending brush and angled brush out of Zoeva's Small Bamboo Set - glad that I ordered them, the blender is so soft and still dense enough to blend the hell out of every e/s, the angled brush is my new favourite if it comes to eyebrows
Eyebrow Stylist Set - dark brown (Essence) - I bought although I thought it would be too dark for me but, the color fits me perfect and lasts really good
Brule (MAC) - another everyday item - I don't use anything else for my eyebrow highlighting or I use it over the whole lid with mascara if I want a natural eye makeup

 Favourite Nailpolishes:

Trendsetter (China Glaze) - It's quite hard for me to wear a color more than once in a year - and this one definitely made me applying it three times - including today
Ultra Nail Hardener (Essence) - my holy grail in basecoats for years
Lime Up! (Essence) - my favourite limegreen
Irreplaceable (Essence) - a goregeous taupe color with golden glassflecks I wore I guess three times if I remember right
Blue Satin (Chanel) - twice worn and it definitely will be some more days in 2012

Favourite Scents:

Black XS by Paco Rabanne - I'm so into heavy and sweet scents <3
Circus Circus LE EdP  - same for this one :)

By the way - Do you like the new blog design?

[Outfit] 07.01.12 + a last time at Bourjois Paris

Hello Betches!

Here I've for you the Outfit I wore today + (I promise) the last "haul" at Bourjois Paris.
I guess I'll never ever have to buy again some stuff of this brand, because everything I was ever interested in has now moved on to my vanity. I will never ever have to buy any healthy mix foundation nor loose powder again. It's kind of freaky but it was a damn god feeling and a little bit of "ha-ha" when I count together the amount I saved.

Dress - H&M/Legging - H&M BiB/Legwarmers - Tchibo/Shoes - Converse/Scarf - ?/Jewelry - Sixx

Effet 4D glosses - 3D shine gloss +  multi-shine shimmers

64 - Rosé métallisé and 65 - Farmboise mordoré
The difference is not that big, but I was hoping for a more popping color in 65 - and I was quite interested in the separated shimmerpowder you can use as a topping.

The first and second swatch are both rosé métallisé - it's a beautiful creamy raspberry color - and I can't wait to combine it with MAC's Fanfare, next to it I applied a bit of the shimmerpowder - which was quite tricky for me - I first tried with my fingers - but as you see it's not even at all so I used a brush when I tried it on my lips - rosé métallisé comes with a rosé toned shimmerpowder - which looks goregeous without the gloss

Third and fourth swatch are frambois mordoré - I expected a bit more color. To me it seems less pigmented than 64, nevertheless a nice and cool pink color coming with a white shimmerpowder that seems like a gold one when it's applied.

Here you see the nice golden shimmer of 65 - framboise mordoré - I liked it so much that I tried it on my lips too - and I'm not that happy anymore - because you really feel the glitter on your lips, it leaves a rough glitterlayer behind that feels awful when you rub your lips together.

I think I'll use the glosses without the shimmer, they're quite smooth and not sticky at all, I can't say anything about their durability - but I will when I wore them a day ;).

Last item - the blush 54 - Rose Frisson

a beautiful rose blush, with a barely seeable baby-glow - I don't know how else to describe it - it's not absolutely matte - but it neither has a defined sheen - kind of juicy.

Do I recommend all of the stuff I bought the last days? For € 3 per piece, I highly recommend it - if you're interested in the products - escpecially the flower perfection loose powder I showed you yesterday is a win and the foundations as well. The glosses, blushes, mascaras, lipliners, bronzers and anything else - why not getting something for € 3 when it usually costs way more?
I guess you can't do anything wrong with the stuff, there are a few pearls to find - so go for some pearl diving!

xoxo Anna
